If this sounds familiar
You don't need another accounting platform. You need someone to take the back office off your plate.
The owners we work with run real businesses with real margins. The numbers aren't the hard part — the hard part is that nobody has ever sat down and built the system that keeps the back office out of crisis mode.
That's the work. Done by someone who has actually run the floor.
- 01
QuickBooks hasn't been reconciled in months — and you're not sure what's real anymore.
- 02
Monthly close drags into the middle of next month. Every month.
- 03
Receipts, invoices, and statements live in three inboxes and a shoebox.
- 04
You can't get a straight answer on cash, margin, or what each location is actually doing.
- 05
Vendor bills slip past due. Payroll feels like a fire drill.
- 06
Your CPA only shows up at tax time — and asks for things you can't pull.
What we do
Three ways we work. Scoped to where you actually are.
Most owners start with a cleanup, then move into monthly close. Ops support gets added once the volume calls for it.
QuickBooks Cleanup
We rebuild your chart of accounts, reconcile every bank and card back to a known-good date, fix mis-categorized transactions, and hand you books you can actually trust.
- Historical reconciliation
- Chart of accounts rebuild
- Clean balance sheet handoff
Monthly Close
On-time, predictable monthly close. Bank and card recs, accruals, sales tax review, and a tight P&L delivered by the same date every month.
- Close by business day 10
- Reconciled bank & card
- P&L and cash summary
Back-Office Ops
AP workflows, vendor management, payroll coordination, document systems, and the boring infrastructure that keeps the business from leaking.
- AP & vendor workflow
- Payroll coordination
- Document & process systems

A calm, three-step process. No drama, no surprises.
Diagnostic call
Thirty minutes on the state of your books, your close, and your admin. You leave with a clear read on where the gaps are — whether you hire us or not.
Cleanup & stabilize
We reconcile historical accounts, document the processes, and set up the monthly rhythm. Most engagements stabilize within 60 to 90 days.
Run on rhythm
Monthly close on a fixed date, predictable reporting, and a back office that doesn't depend on you remembering it.

Founder
Beth Young
30 years in hospitality. Bookkeeping and back-office ops.
Who you're working with
Three decades on the floor. A bookkeeper who has actually run a business.
Beth spent thirty years in hospitality operations and management — opening rooms, running teams, closing drawers, managing vendors, and keeping the lights on through every kind of week. She worked the floor long before she ever ran a trial balance.
The bookkeeping and finance work came later, and on purpose. After years of watching good operators fly blind because their back office was held together with sticky notes and goodwill, she moved into the numbers side and built Clean Slate Ops to be the help she wished she'd had.
That's the whole point: she has worked the line and reconciled the GL. You're not getting a junior accountant or a software reseller. You're getting an operator who also does the books.

In practice
What this looks like in practice.
Independent restaurant
Before
Books months behind, unclear numbers, receipts and invoices scattered, no timely monthly close.
After
Accounts reconciled to a known-good date, a cleaner monthly close, and clearer visibility into cash and margin.
Multi-unit operator
Before
Inconsistent close across locations, messy admin workflows, CPA chasing missing detail at year-end.
After
Standardized close on a fixed date, tidier AP and vendor workflow, and a smoother CPA handoff.

- An honest answer on whether I'm the right fit for the job.
